My new working life reveals to me some values that are embedded inside the paradigm of our society.
At least in Sarawak
1. Maids are treated badly. Even if we have so much space within the building plot, the maids room would be the smallest space of all, besides the bath room & powder room. They'd be tucked at the back of the house, close to all the services area; kitchen, store, utilities & laundry.
2. I hope this is untrue to most of us. Some developers are beginning to embrace the idea of having a retirement village; a housing area for elders. This new mindset provokes us with an alarming 'value' inside the community.
Children are starting to neglect parents! Gone are the respect, love & care from a child to parents.
