"Bahtai die...to set you free!" said Abbas.
That was one of the final words in "Buddha Collapsed from Shame", a film by a 19 yr old Iranian girl. When Bahtai, a five year old girl was struggling to find a school to learn how to read, she was accidentally dragged into a war game with a group of children who played radical Islamist. Throughout her journey, she was continuously harassed by the boys (it can really make you feel sorry for her). Towards the end, her friend, Abbas told her that she needed to act dead to end the war game.
I guess its a poetic way to say; kill your 'soul' to be 'free'.
From a point of view, it is a reflection of a sad reality in our homeland, which probably has got nothing to do with the plot of the movie.
Sometimes, I feel some of us had really committed suicide, not literally speaking.
Gone are the manners that have been thought in schools & at home by parents.
Gone are the love for brotherhood that we can easily see in our politically-blind children.
Gone are the rational thinking behind the overwhelming rage & pride.
All gone in the name of freedom.

You reminded me of my youngest sister, Izzah (which moved me even more when I watched the film).
